Welcome to Third Sector Women a new initiative for women working at all levels within the Third Sector. My name is Rachel Whale and I founded TSW in 2006 because I am passionate about leadership within cause driven organisations. There are so many women who against the odds are making a very real and positive social impact in charities across the UK and overseas. We want to support, challenge and inspire these women to achieve even greater results and enjoy a healthy work life balance. Although over 70% of the voluntary sector workforce is female, women are not represented to the same degree at senior management and chief executive levels. To foster female talent across the sector we create opportunities for women at all levels whether employee, volunteer or trustee to come together and benefit from the power of peer support. We believe that role models, talented leadership, flexible work patterns and access to good resources will enable women to succeed in their careers of choice.
