Marie Staunton is the Chief Executive of the child centred development agency, Plan UK, which was founded in the UK 70 years ago. It now has nearly 120,000 supporters in the UK and over 1 million worldwide working in 66 different countries. Plan UK helps communities secure a long term future for the world’s poorest children.

Marie Staunton qualified and practised as a solicitor, ran hostels for homeless people in England and Ireland, was the legal officer for Liberty, Director of Amnesty UK, Vice Chair of Amnesty International and Deputy Director of UNICEF UK before joining Plan. She also has considerable commercial experience, working as Publishing Director of FT Law and Tax, a Pearson Company, for 7 years.
